Flat Tow an Automatic Suzuki Jimny
Behind Your Motorhome
Flat towing usually means buying a manual, because most automatics can't be towed on their own wheels. We offer the automatic Suzuki Jimny as the exception. Fit a dog clutch and it rolls behind the motorhome on all four of its own wheels.
What a dog clutch does
A dog clutch is a disconnect fitted into the driveline. The original drive shaft comes out, the clutch goes in behind the transmission, and a shorter shaft goes back on. When you tow, the clutch disengages and the wheels roll free, so the gearbox stays still and takes no load.

The disconnect sits in the driveline, behind the gearbox.

What it means for your Jimny
It opens up cars that previously couldn't be flat towed, as they leave the factory. The automatic Suzuki Jimny is currently the only car we have this solution for.
Electric vehicles are the exception, and they cannot be flat towed.
Fitted by people who do it every week
Our installers fit dog clutches as part of the regular job. A dog clutch needs LVV certification (Low Volume Vehicle certification), which your installer arranges. You can talk to us directly or deal with your installer, whichever suits you.
