Which tow bar is right for you?
All three Blue Ox tow bars share the same non-binding latches and one-person connection. The difference comes down to mounting style and towed weight capacity.
Acclaim Tow Bar
- Mount: 50mm ball
- Capacity: 2,268 kg
- Best for: Lighter motorhomes with a ball hitch, lighter towed vehicles
Alpha Tow Bar
- Mount: 2" receiver
- Capacity: 2,950 kg
- Best for: Mid-weight motorhomes, mid-weight towed vehicles
Avail Tow Bar
- Mount: 2" receiver
- Capacity: 4,536 kg
- Best for: Larger motorhomes, heavier towed vehicles, frequent tight-corner manoeuvring
You'll also need a brake system
Under NZ transport rules, supplementary braking is required on most flat-towed vehicles. The Patriot 3 is our recommended system: portable, proportional, and built to meet NZ compliance requirements.
