Built for heavier loads and longer trips

Non-binding latches

The latches self-release under tension, so you don't need to perfectly square up before disconnecting, even on uneven ground.

Self-aligning arms

Drive forward, the arms pull into position. No second person guiding you in.

Longer arms

More clearance for tight turns. Better suited to manoeuvring through carparks and gateways with the towed vehicle attached.

Stays on the motorhome

Mounted in your receiver, the Avail stays in place between trips. The arms fold back when not in use.

Who the Avail suits

The Avail is for towing heavier vehicles. With a 4,536 kg rating, it handles full-size 4WDs, larger SUVs, and lighter ute-style vehicles that the Acclaim and Alpha can't.

It's also the choice for motorhomers who want the tow bar permanently mounted on the motorhome rather than removing it between trips.

If your towed vehicle is under 2,950 kg, the Alpha is a lighter and simpler option. If your motorhome has a 50mm ball hitch, the Acclaim is your pick.

Common Questions

What's the difference between the Alpha and the Avail?

Both use a 2" receiver mount. The Avail is rated to 4,536 kg and has longer arms; the Alpha is rated to 2,950 kg and has standard arms.

Pick the Avail for heavier towed vehicles or if you regularly manoeuvre in tight spaces.

What receiver size do I need?

The Avail needs a 2" receiver hitch on the back of your motorhome.

Standard on most mid to larger NZ motorhomes.

Can I leave the Avail mounted?

Yes, and most owners do. The Avail is designed to stay in the receiver between trips. The arms fold back when not in use, keeping the rear of your motorhome tidy.

What vehicles suit the Avail?

Larger 4WDs, full-size SUVs, lighter utes, and any towed vehicle up to 4,536 kg. The towed vehicle needs a compatible Blue Ox baseplate.

Do I also need a brake system?

Often, and it depends on your motorhome tow bar's unbraked rating.

The Patriot 3 is our recommended brake system. Have a look at the NZ Legal Guide for the full picture.
